I created Aetopia Health to be your anchor in that storm.
Who Am I?
My name is Dr. Spencer Fuller. I am a board-certified ophthalmologist and a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon.
My journey in medicine has taken me from medical school at UC San Diego to a Master of Public Health at Johns Hopkins, residency at Washington University in St. Louis, and a retina surgery fellowship at the Moran Eye Center. I personally architect every clinical pathway on this site, utilizing modern clinical-grade technology and AI tools to build a platform that meets the rigorous standards of a medical practice. This platform is built on clinical rigor.
Why Aetopia Health?
Each day in clinic, I see dozens of patients every day. I love my work, and I often wish I had more time to elaborate on the "what" behind a diagnosis, the "why" that underpins whether or not I recommend a therapy or surgery, or the "how" of a daily lifestyle change.
I realized that while the internet has seemingly infinite information, it needed more curated wisdom. You can find a million articles on "red eyes," but it is hard to find a tool that helps you understand your red eye.
The Hybrid Model: Radical Transparency on AI
Aetopia Health is different. We are a Physician-Led, AI-Enhanced platform.
We use advanced artificial intelligence tools—including Gemini Pro, OpenEvidence, and custom coding environments like Replit—to build these assessments and underpinned by vast libraries of medical research.
What AI Does: It helps us process data, build software faster, create and promote the educational content on the website (like this post), and find patterns in medical literature.
What AI Does NOT Do: It does not make medical decisions, and it does not replace your doctor.
Every algorithm, article, and assessment on this site is designed, verified, and "signed off" by me and the other physicians that work with Aetopia Health. We use AI as a powerful customized engine, but we are always the pilot.
